As yet another round of violence unfold, this editorial contends that the international community’s repeated calls for a cease-fire and peace talks, though well-intentioned, fall short of the bold actions needed to address the conflict’s core causes.

Few conflicts are as divisive as that of Israel and Palestine, presenting two sides each with unyielding convictions. The challenge is not merely in discussing this volatile topic without drawing ire, but in grappling with a central tragedy: how the legitimate desires for security on one side and for dignity and statehood on the other have, for more than seven decades, resulted in persistent human suffering and the massacre of innocent Israelis and Palestinians alike.

​We mourn with the affected families, and pause in this edition of LIFTED Magazine to share the thoughts of well-known individuals on the conflict.

​And, given the conflict’s religious dimensions, we reflect on what guidance our Lord Jesus would offer on the subject. The views in this issue of our Magazine aim to foster meaningful discussion and deeper understanding, urging us toward transformative action for peace.
